As the year 2019 comes to close, I have been lazy since last 1 week or so and basically indulging in lots of leisurely stuff – reading, listening to music, watching movies, web series etc.
Year 2019 was one of the worst years in my life – emotionally, physically and financially…and I am glad that it’s coming to an end! Year 2020 is going to be very hectic personally, and I want to take a pause and revitalise, recharge myself.
Anyways, so I watched a few nice movies in last few days and one of them was the 1963 comedy mystery movie called “Charade” starring two of my favourite actors in Hollywood – Cary Grant and Audrey Hepburn.
The movie was directed by Stanley Donen, who also directed Cary Grant starrer “The Grass Is Greener” (1960) movie which I had watched long back and liked immensely. That was a light hearted comedy – the kind of movie we don’t see today (similar to Hrishikesh Mukherjee movies in Hindi).
Even though Charade is a mystery/thriller movie it has subtle comedy and very sharp witty dialogues. I had downloaded this movie on hard drive long back (maybe 5-7 years) but hadn’t watched it yet. Don’t know why…
I’m glad that I found and watched this movie, especially towards end of this extremely tiring year of my life.
