Israel-Hamas War is becoming more complicated within just 2 weeks since Hamas carried out the dreadful attack on Israel on 7th October. Since I didn’t know much about the issue, I explored few videos to understand the background. I even posted an excellent video by Dr. Vikas Divyakirti which explains in detail the entire history of Israel-Palestine conflict and also the religious context. It’s in Hindi though.
Let me first mention where I stand. I am more sympathetic towards Palestine – not towards Hamas, let me make it clear. Palestine is not even a state. i.e. they do not have Army or Military to defend themselves. They have been fighting for their rights for decades. The two nation option has been rejected by Israel and since then Palestine people have been suffering for 75+ years.
Since Palestine cannot defend itself, there are other Muslim elements which stand by or stand behind Palestine people – some of them are Islamic nations (Iran and others), and some of them are armed militants like Hamas (secretly supported by some of the Western powers). Hence it is difficult to see this whole conflict in Black and White.
Now the question is: What Hamas did on 7th October 2023 was evil and they should be punished. But how and in what proportion? Hamas is fighting a proxy war. They hide in Palestine civilian colonies and hence they cannot be attacked without causing collateral damage. Some Israelis also feel that Palestines are harbouring Hamas militants and hence they should also pay for their sins.
Usually you’ll see pro-Israeli media coverage. India’s dictator Modi and his ideology openly supports Israel. Funnily enough, he and his ideology also support Hitler, who in turn butchered millions of Israeli Jews. In short, Modi and RSS support whoever is the powerful oppressor at that time.
Anyways, coming back to Israel-Hamas war, it’s rare to see strong and logical defence from pro-Palestine side. I recently saw two such debates on Piers Morgan show and hence thought of posting it here.
The first is comedian Bassem Youssef who has done an exceptional job in bringing out the Palestine’s point of view via his sarcastic and edgy rebuttal of Piers Morgan. I was extremely impressed by his composure and his invincible arguments.
The second one is Mohammed Hijab – a pro-Palestine Youtuber who is more combative and did well in holding his turf opposite Piers Morgan.
I also liked Piers Morgan who has done a good job by giving platform to such voices and views.
Lastly, it exposes Indian TV/Journalists (Godi media specifically) on how biased and spineless their coverage is.
