Ministry of Education has implemented National Institute Rankings Framework (NIRF) for evaluating and ranking educational institutes in India. NIRF just released their rankings for 2024.
NIRF or any such rankings are good example of Goodhart’s Law which states:
“When a measure becomes a target, it ceases to be a good measure.”
Our education industry (yes, it’s an industry or a business) is broken.
The annual budget allocation by Government indicates how low it is on their list of priorities to fix this.
