If you are interested in Economics and follow India’s GDP growth story, you would have heard the discussion about Middle Income Trap.
It’s a simple problem statement. Can India become rich before she becomes old.
The demographic dividend is in favour of Indja, with a huge population below the age of 30. However, the slowing birth rate and aging of population along with increased life expectancy means that India will exhaust the demographic dividend by 2047 or so. That’s also when India will celebrate 100 years of independence. Will India become a developed nation by then or will remain a middle income nation? That’s called Middle Income Trap.
There have been 3 good discussions on this topic, all of which happened recently, in last 2 weeks. Hence I thought of posting all 3 videos here. Do check out.
