I had a privilege of visiting IUCAA, Pune in early 90’s when I was in school (7th or 8th standard probably) and listen to Dr Narlikar. I didn’t know how great he was, but he could still connect with the kids.
As I grew older I started understanding his greatness. The good part was that he also wrote extensively in Marathi, something which is very rare and much needed – which is: an authority in any field writing in Marathi to communicate with the people who otherwise would not get exposure to that knowledge.
If you like Maths and Science and if you speak Marathi you should check out his books.
My favourite book by Dr. Narlikar is “गणित आणि विज्ञान: युगायुगांची जुगलबंदी”.
In today’s era of algorithm-driven consumption of reels and videos which only pamper senses and not the brain, it is important to watch and share contents that stimulate thinking, curiosity and knowledge. Here is a great video profile of Dr. Narlikar. Unfortunately, it has only a few hundred views in 2 years. But I enjoyed it a lot!
