Dr. Pradeep Apte is one of my favorite Professors. I had the privilege of attending one of his excellent talks recently on Breweries in India – yes, you heard it right! He is the kind of all-rounder who can talk about Economics, and virtually everything under the sun with the same knowledge, intensity and passion. He reminded me of a couple of my professors at IIM, Ahmedabad. Apart from being associated with Gokhale Institute of Political Economy, Pune he is also in the governing body of Bhandarkar Institute, another premium institute in Pune.
In this latest podcast he talks about PC Mahalanobis – the man who built Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata and pioneered the modern statistical studies in India. I have heard about PC from our Professors at IIM, Ahemedabad and also various mathematical journals. But this talk is very riveting and highly recommended if you are interested in Mathematics and Statistics.
