Andre Agassi And Steffi Graf Interview with Vijay Amritraj

Tennis is one of my favourite sports. I have been following it since my childhood and growing up I had the best fortune of watching Boris Becker, Edberg, Sampras, Agassi etc. in their prime. This was late 80’s and early 90’s.

Sampras and Agassi rivalry was great! Federer and Nadal or Federer and Djokovic rivalry would be more fierce, but somehow they do not have the same aura or charm. Maybe because I have become old and I am not able to connect with this generation.

Between Agassi and Sampras I always liked backing Agassi, though Sampras was a far better player and clear favourite. I can now understand why. Firstly I always support the underdog rather than clear favourite. Secondly, Agassi came across as more humane and colourful personality.

As I grew older and the internet brought more insights about these players I became even more interested in Agassi the person. Last year I bought Agassi’s biography and have ready first few pages and it’s fascinating so far!

I also watched a very interesting interview of Andre Agassi and Steffi Graf with Vijay Amritraj. Really liked it and hence thought of sharing it here.
