The ELO Rating System for Chess

I love playing chess. My initial rating performance was close to 1900 and then it subsequently fell down because I was too reckless early on, after getting the FIDE rating, when “k” factor is high i.e. you win or lose points quickly.

I was fascinated by this rating system called ELO. As I learnt statistics and applied statistics in other subjects – mainly my CFA and Six Sigma Black Belt studies – I learnt more about the normal distribution, the confidence interval, p-value and many other concepts. So my interest in ELO rating grew further.

I still look for more information/knowledge on this subject.
