I recently saw this great TED talk by math teacher and communicator Roger Antonsen on the topic “Math is the hidden secret to understanding the world“.
Roger starts with his definition of Understanding as “it is something which has to do with your ability to change perspective” and then he uses Mathematics as a medium or tool to elaborate on understanding and new perspectives.
Really liked the way he unfolds different perspectives on a simple “4/3” ratio and how it manifests itself in various things such as music and graphic and so on…
