The great Indian mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan (1887-1920) was born on this day 135 years ago. He was a genius who taught himself advanced mathematics and did in a short life span of 32 years some great work which went on to become foundation of many ground breaking inventions and discoveries which we experience and use everyday.
He created this, his birthday magic square, where all rows, columns, diagonals, corners, corners of 3×3 squares, and 2×2 corner and centre squares sum to the sum of the digits of his birthday in the 1st row (22/12/1887)
