Magnus Carlsen is arguably the best ever chess player in the world. Of course, it is not correct to use these kinds of superlatives – the best ever – but you get my point. He is the most influential chess player as of today. That would not be an overstatement. However he is also reclusive and introvert and hence you don’t get to know what’s on his mind (unlike maybe Anish Giri).
That’s why every interview he does or every time he reveals his thought process, it’s a delight!
One such great opportunity happened recently when Magnus did a marathon 2.5 hrs podcast interview with Lex Fridman. It’s an amazing chat and you must watch it if you are a chess lover! His understanding of chess and self-awareness and interests in other sports are evident in this podcast!
